Wanda - a comfy, unique, practical camper van who welcomes you and your trusty dog.
She lives in Long Melford on the Suffolk/Essex border within easy reach of London and Cambridge. Suffolk is a beautiful and contrasting county with it's rolling countryside, medieval villages and the sweeping horizons on the coast where your stresses of daily living drop away.
The River Stour is a stones throw from Wanda's home and is one of the many rivers that heads east to the Suffolk Coast AONB. An idyllic area - Aldeburgh, Southwold, Snape and my favourite, Walberswick. A wealth of things to do and see whether you love walking, swimming, cycling, nature, wild places. There are festivals for writers, poets, artists, musicians and it's a haven for birdwatcherst with RSPB Minsmere. Or join star gazers on Wesleton Common or find your way to the atmospheric, secluded beach at Covehithe.
Wanda was skillfully crafted, lined with birch to give a light and roomy feel with cupboards finished in happy turquoise blue. She is a van for four seasons, fully insulated with gas heating, solar panels to keep the leisure battery charged and a 240V mains hook up. This gives you total flexibilty - perhaps wild camp watching the full moon rise out of the sea or hook up to the mains electric at a campsite. It's your choice, your time.
The comfy interior has a L-shaped sofa that quickly pulls out into a double bed. A table for eating and a fabulous kitchen with an upcycled French jam pot made into a sink, the splash back created from straightened split copper pipes. There are 2 gas hobs and a very roomy fridge that runs off the leisure battery. Her unique copper pipe LED lights can be rotated to give directional - or mood lighting for those snuggly nights.
There is storage galore in Wanda - inside for clothes, kitchen stuff, food, bedding and more. At the back of the van are large pull out drawers perfect for wet and muddy gear from wet suits, muddy boots, waterproofs, rock climbing gear. A porta loo and an outside shower can be added as extras.
So Wanda - created for comfort and adventure - and for those essential relaxing times recharging, watching the sun set - perhaps with a glass of local Adnams fizz, fine real ale, or a cuppa.
