Terms and conditions Drivers: Only persons named on the hire agreement at time of hire may drive the vehicle. Drivers must be aged between 30-70 years of age and have held a license for at least 3 years. Age groups outside this bracket may be insured, but additional premium may be charged. This is at the discretion of our insurers. Driving license with endorsements may also incur extra charges and must be declared at time of booking. On collection of the vehicle, the hirer will need to provide – 1. Valid driving licence. 2. Photo ID (passport) 3. Two original utility bills not more than 3 months old, which show current address. Drivers from outside the EU, USA, Canada, Australia or NZ, must also produce an international driving permit or licence. There may be a higher excess payable. Our insurers charge a premium for additional drivers. All drivers must be declared at the start of your hire and named on your booking form. Insurance: Fully comprehensive insurance is provided within the hire charge and for the hire period only. Driving outside this period of cover, would deem to be an offence under the road traffic act. In the event of an accident, loss or damage, the hirer will be liable to pay the first £500 of any incident resulting in a claim. It is advised that the hirer takes out separate personal accident and possession insurance when travelling. Any damage to tyres, windscreens and any theft or loss of personal effects is not covered by our insurance and shall be at your expense. Deposit & Balance: To hold your booking we require a £150 non-refundable booking deposit. The balance must be paid six weeks prior to your hire commencing. If we do not receive the balance when due, your booking will be automatically cancelled and you will lose your deposit. Should you book within six weeks of hire, full payment is required at time of booking. Security deposit: This is a damage deposit and insurance excess, which is normally £500 (or more if our insurer recommends), which is to be paid on pick-up day by debit or credit card. The security deposit is reimbursed on safe return of the vehicle, in the same clean condition in which it left our property, subject to a satisfactory inspection by us. This must be paid to cover the possibility of damage (whether negligent, willful, accidental or otherwise) or loss to the van or the fixtures and fittings therein, or the living equipment and windows, wheels, tyres, etc, included with the van. The van and all of its’ equipment must be returned in the same clean condition, with no damage to it, its’ contents or any third party property. The van must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when taken, which is indicated on the hire agreement. Your security deposit will be refunded within seven working days of the end of the hire period. Should there be any damage, costs for any repair, replacement or special cleaning, the costs will be deducted from this deposit before the balance is returned to you. Deductions will be £25 if chemical toilet is not emptied and cleaned; £50 per hour late return/or part thereof; £100 soiling fee if the vehicle is not returned in the same clean condition as when it left our premises. In the event that there is a claim, we reserve the right to retain the damage deposit for a longer period, as is necessary to quantify the charges incurred, which are to be deducted from the deposit. You irrevocably authorise us to deduct from the damage deposit any amounts due to us arising out of this agreement. Where the damage deposit is insufficient to cover the costs, you will pay any additional amounts due. The amount will be invoiced and you agree to pay all charges within fourteen days of the invoice date. *Gocampervan operates a very strict no smoking policy in all of our campervans and in the awning area.
