MAGPIE CAMPERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR HIRE AND USE OF VEHICLE: RESERVATIONS Prices quotes are in GB Pounds To reserve van we require a deposit of 10 % of rental fee Full payment required before the van is released for hire. Credit or Debit cards must be in the hirer's name . Bank transfer can also be used. HIRE PERIOD Rental is charged on a nightly basis 2 nights minimum hire period. Hire period refers to dates agreed in the rental agreement. Collection times are 2pm and Return is by 12 noon,unless we have agreed to different times and the vehicle insurance also covers any changes. Any late collection or return times will be charged at a rate of £25.00 per hour unless we are notified and agree to the time changes. We reserve the right to change our minimum hire period terms at any time. HIRE RATES INCLUDE Daily mileage is limited to 200 miles ,extra miles over this amount will be charged at a rate of 0.20 pence per mile,mileage is recorded before leaving and on return then daily allowance is calculated over the rental period. Full kitchen utensils and pots and pans kit,electric and gas stove kettle,cutlery, plates, dishes and cups included. Gas bottle for cooking and heating. Gas bottle is weighed on leaving for hire period and usage calculated when returned,gas is payable at £9.00 per kg used and bottle holds 2.72 kg when full. 4 camping chairs and an outdoor table. 1 x memory foam mattress and mattress protector. Pair of van levelling chocks. Hook up lead for 240 volt campsite connection. Full AA breakdown and recovery assistance. Fully comp insurance for hire period(arranged and paid for by hirer prior to travel). HIRER CREDENTIALS All drivers must be over age of 25. Driver to provide 2 forms of ID including valid photographic evidence, passport or drivers licence. If hiring through MAGPIE CAMPERS directly then we require you to log in to DVLA website and obtain a check code for your drivers licence and provide us with the required info to view your details.Hiring through any of the outside managed agencies(Leisure Rentals Direct ,Goboony Etc) you will be following their application procedures. We do not hire the van to anyone with more than 9 points on their licence or more than 1 fault claim in the last 12 months. VEHICLE INSURANCE Fully comprehensive insurance is provided on a daily basis,this is organized and paid for by the hirer and must be taken out before travel can commence,the policy must cover the total hire period and allow for any traffic problems or unforeseen travel time issues,the van must not be used outside of your insurance time schedules as you will not be insured to drive. Most insurance policies will give a small amount of personal belongings cover but you must make sure you are happy with cover offered as we are not responsible for any of your belongings during the hire period. SECURITY DEPOSIT A deposit of £1000 is required before any hire commences,this can be either a bank transfer or a debit card payment,no cash please. The security deposit can be used to cover insurance excess in event of accidental damages or incidents but any amounts over the deposit amount are payable by the hirer. The deposit can also be used to cover any loss or damage to any equipment on the van or any equipment included with the hire of the vehicle. Any charges against your security deposit will be discussed with you and written notification given within 28 days of the vehicle being returned from hire. All parking,speeding ,traffic related fines while the van is in your hire period will be payable by the hirer. If the values required for any claim against you exceeds the deposit amount you agree to pay the extra amount within 28 days of the end date of hire period. CANCELATION TERMS In the event of a cancelation the following charges will apply, 2 weeks prior to travel and including not showing up for rental commencement,100% of total hire charge will be payable. 2 weeks to 6 weeks prior to rental dates a charge of 50% will be applied and cancelling more than 6 weeks prior to travel dates will incur a charge of 25% of total hire charge. CAMPERVAN HANDOVER Vehicles must be collected or dropped off at the times specified when you book. When you arrive to collect you will be given a detailed demo of how everything works and all vehicle systems will be tested ,when both parties are happy you will be asked to sign the pre rental forms,these forms and any written comments will be used when checking the condition of the van on return to us. Van must be returned in a clean and tidy condition on return,if needed a cleaning fee will be discussed and agreed to before deposit is returned. A dog cleaning fee of £40.00 is applied and paid for before any travel commences if you are taking a dog on your trip. BREAKDOWN AND MAINTENANCE The hirer will inspect and maintain the van wherever they are able to do so during the hire period,this includes checking any fluid levels and topping up if necessary ,Magpie Campers will reimburse the costs of any problems not caused by the hirer, please retain any receipts and hand them in when you return. In the event of any mechanical or maintenance issues arising the hirer must first contact us to discuss the problems and must not give any authority to carry out any work on the vehicle whatsoever until done so. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT The hirer will notify MAGPIE CAMPERS within 12 hours of any incident,obtain names and addresses of all parties concerned,including any available witnesses and report the event to the police if required. The hirer accepts that no security deposit will be returned until any insurance claims are settled. FINES,TOLL CHARGES,TRAFFIC RELATED CHARGES The hirer is liable for any costs incurred during the hire period and agrees to pay these costs when they are presented. The van has a tracking system which will show vehicle speed and vehicle position at any time and this information will be used if needed regarding these charges. Magpie Campers will charge an administration charge of £40.00 for any infringement we have to deal with on your behalf. The camper van must not be parked in public places overnight and any parking charges will be payable by the hirer.
