Terms & Conditions 1. A £150 per week non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and will be deducted from the total hire charge. 2. A refundable security deposit of £500 is required. The hirer is liable to bear the first £500 of each and every claim for loss and damage to the hired vehicle. Security deposits will be refunded in full provided that the vehicle is returned undamaged, clean and on time. Un-emptied toilets will be charged at £30 for emptying and vehicle cleaning at £85. Refunds are paid after cleaning and inspection of the returned vehicle within 10 days of termination of the hire. 3. Full payment is required 6 weeks prior to departure or immediately if the booking date is less than 6 weeks in advance. 4. Cancellations will be charged as follows:- Time of booking to 6 weeks before departure: Loss of deposit. Between 6 and 4 weeks before departure date: Loss of 50% of hire charge. Less than 4 weeks before departure date: 100% of hire charge. Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday travel insurance to safeguard against such losses. 5. Vehicles are available for collection on Fridays from 3 pm onwards and must be returned between 9 a.m and 10 a.m on Fridays. 6. If the hirer fails to arrive at the agreed collection time the owners reserve the right to re-hire the vehicle and admit no liability in respect of any inconvenience to or cancellation charges for pre-booked expenditure by the hirer. 7. In the event of the vehicle being retained beyond the agreed time the extra period will be charged at £100 per day or part thereof, plus the normal daily rental charge. Hirers are warned that in this event they will be running the vehicle uninsured and are liable to criminal prosecution. 8. The owners agree to have the vehicle clean and ready at the time and date required, but if for any reason the vehicle is not available the owners will do their best to make an alternative vehicle available, or return all monies paid. In this event the hirer shall have no claim of any kind against the owners. 9. The owners may cancel the hire if at the time of collection the nominated drivers’ licences are invalid or not in accordance with the terms and conditions. In this event all monies paid will be forfeited (except the security deposit). 10. No refunds are made for early return of hire vehicle. 11. Fuel / oil and tyres are at the hirers expense. Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full, the cost of any shortfall to be paid for by the hirer. The hirer is responsible for any punctures or damage to tyres and wheels (including wheel trims). 12. In accepting delivery of the vehicle the hirer shall be deemed to have admitted that at the commencement of the hire term the vehicle is in good repair, running order and clean, and to have undertaken to return it to the owners in the same condition (excluding fair wear and tear). There shall be no refund or abatement of the hire charge for any period that the vehicle shall be out of service during the period of hire, nor will the owners be responsible for the cost of a replacement vehicle, alternative accommodation or transportation of any kind. 13. No claim by the hirer will be considered in respect of any loss or damage to personal belongings or effects of the hirer or any person or persons. 14. Damage to the interior of the vehicle, to living or cooking equipment, bike racks and roof vents will be charged to the hirer in all cases. 15. In the unlikely event of a breakdown the owners request that you seek the help of the RAC Any repairs exceeding £50 have to be approved by the owners prior to the repair being undertaken. All invoices / receipts should be retained and returned to the owners on completion of hire. 16. In the event of any accident whatsoever the hirer must notify the owners immediately. The hirer shall not give instructions for repairs to be carried out without the permission of the owners. An accident report form must be completed and handed to the owners at the termination of hire. 17. The hirer: a) Shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle or allow the vehicle to be overloaded. b) Shall not use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward. c) Understands and acknowledges that he / she is responsible for any fines incurred during the hire period d) Shall not without written consent from the owners remove the vehicle out of the U.K mainland. e) Will be responsible to the owners for the cost of making good any damage caused to the vehicle by improper treatment. 18. The owners reserve the right to vary rates and conditions of hire and to refuse a hire to any person without explanation or prior warning. 19. Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years of age, of good health and have held a full driving licence for at least one year. The licence must be free of endorsement, except for one speeding or parking offence, and must be produced at the time of hire.
