Drivers Our range of motorhomes for hire are abailable to drivers between the ages of 25 and 73 years of age, who have held a full driving licence valid for the relevant vehicle for at least five years prior to the commencement of hire. Drivers’ licence must be free of endorsements except for minor speeding or parking offences (more than 3 points may be subject to an insurance surcharge.) Drivers who passed their test after 1996 may be restricted on the weight of motorhome they are permitted to drive, please telephone to check. All drivers must be present at time of collection and produce driving licence plus personal ID. In the case of UK photo card licences both the card and the counterpart paper licence must be produced. Visitors from abroad must produce a valid unendorsed domestic driving licence or international driving permit. The price covers one named driver, additional drivers may be added at an additional charge of £35 per driver per week. Drivers are required to submit their personal details on the booking form. At the commencement of motorhome hire, all drivers must produce personal identification such as a valid passport and confirmation of address in the form of a recent utility bill or a bank/building society statement. Insurance Fully comprehensive insurance for use in the UK is included with all of our motorhomes for hire. The insurance is only valid for the period of the hire, thus any late return would automatically constitute a traffic offence under the Road Traffic Act. Invalid insurance means the driver and main hirer become personally liable for any accident damage to the motorhome, third party property and third party personal injuries. Insurance cover is for the vehicle and equipment only. Personal possessions are not covered; hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance. A £500 damage deposit is payable at commencement of hire. A £1,000 deposit may be required if the hire is for attending a sports event or music festival. If the vehicle is returned in good condition, whole and undamaged, with clean interior and no other excesses to be charged, the deposit will be refunded within 7 days. Should the condition of the vehicle be otherwise; then repairs, replacements or cleaning costs will be charged against the deposit. If the hirer is found to have damaged the vehicle by negligence (i.e. no other person or vehicle is involved) the hirer will be responsible for full rectification costs. Front and rearbumpers, overcab mouldings, roof lights, windows, wing mirrors andexternal doors are typical components prone to damage by negligence. A charge of £60 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tanks. Reservations Select your preferred vehicle from our motorhomes for hire specifications on the web site or brochure, please note that the vehicle supplied may not match those illustrated on this website. Select departure date. Telephone or e-mail to confirm availability and advise us of any special requests or extras. Your telephone booking will be held for 5 days. Complete booking form, post with deposit cheque of £250 per week (or part week), or fax together with credit/debit card details. Confirmation and an invoice for the balance will be sent to you; please note full payment is required 4 weeks before the start of the hire period. Cancellations Should the hirer cancel the booking the company will endeavour to re-hire the motorhome. If successful the amount paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £30. However if re-hire is not successful the hirer will be liable for the deposit and any hire charges already paid. Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday insurance to safeguard against such eventualities. We reserve the right to cancel the booking before commencement of hire if the named drivers’ licences are invalid or do not comply with the information stated on the booking form. In this case you will forfeit the booking deposit and hire charges already paid. Collection and Returns Weekly vehicle hire is Friday to Friday or Saturday to Saturday, subject to availability. Vehicles are available for collection between 4.00p.m and 6.00p.m. and returned between 8.30a.m and 10.00a.m., unless otherwise arranged in writing. 4 night short breaks are from Monday - collection between 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm and return Friday between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. 3 night short breaks are from Friday – collection between 3.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. and return Monday between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. Failure to comply with these times will result in the hirer being surcharged at the rate of £50 per hour or part thereof (first 3 hours) and balance of deposit thereafter together with any additional costs incurred by the Company. No refunds will be given for an early return of the vehicle. The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and the contents free from any defect or damage and complete other than as specified by the Company. The hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the Company’s premises. Upon return the Company’s representative will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, etc., including the condition of the tyres and windscreen which are not included in the Company’s insurance cover, any such damage is the hirer's responsibility. Failure to return the vehicle in a clean condition will incur a charge. Liabilities We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from motorhome breakdown, fair wear and tear excepted, accident or any other such related causes. All accidents must be reported immediately by telephone to 0845 260 4444. An accident report form must be completed at the termination of hire. The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charges and for any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations. The hirer shall be responsible for all overhead damage resulting from any incident, overhead damage is defined from ground to in excess of 6 feet from the ground. Damage to windscreen, tyres and punctures are the responsibility of the hirer. You are required to check tyre pressures and engine fluid levels as specified in the driver’s manual. The hirer is required to keep the motorhome under their control throughout the hire period. It must be locked at all times when unattended. Breakdown In the unlikely event of a breakdown the AA emergency services are at the disposal of the hirer. The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100 on repairs, this will be repaid on submission of a valid VAT receipt. For repairs costing more than £100 prior approval from Chester Van Centre Limited must be obtained. Fuel & Gas A full tank of diesel is supplied with the vehicle at the commencement of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of diesel, any shortage will be charged to the hirer. Two gas cylinders are supplied with at least one full, subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting and returned with the vehicle. Animals Animals are currently not permitted in our motorhomes for hire. Smoking Smoking is not permitted in these vehicles, any infringement of this condition will incur a minimum charge of £100. For the benefit of other users your co-operation would be appreciated. Availability Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the reserved motorhome is available, if due to circumstances beyond our control this is not possible and an alternative suitable motorhome is not available our liability is limited to the refunds of all monies paid by you. Winter Hire Tyne Valley Leisure cannot be held responsible in the event of any damage or inconvenience caused by freezing conditions. Customers vehicles stored at own risk Secure parking is provided free to the hirer for the duration of the hire period at the owner's risk.
