Whilst we at Bliss Motorhome Hire, make every effort to make your holiday as easy and carefree as possible, we must apply the following terms and conditions, in order to protect both the hirer and the company. These terms and conditions should be agreed to and signed for prior to commencement of the hire. INSURANCE: Full Comprehensive Insurance for the vehicle is included for 2 named drivers, in the hire charge. More drivers can be added for an extra charge. This does not include internal fixtures, fittings and equipment, or any optional equipment that may have been added. Hirers are advised to take out insurance to cover their personal possessions. There may be insurance surcharges dependant on driving history, minor convictions, and health restrictions. It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide full and accurate information. In the event of the motor policy being invalidated because of non-disclosure of relevant facts the company will hold the hirer responsible for all losses, fines and any other eventualities. The vehicle is only insured for leisure purposes during the hire period. If you are likely to be late in returning, you must contact us immediately, so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Driving of the vehicle after the expiry time may result in the driver committing a traffic offence and being liable to criminal prosecution under Road Traffic Act. Furthermore the hirer will be responsible for any accidental damage, injury and consequential costs after the expiry of the hire period. Items not covered under the insurance, and which are the sole responsibility of the hirer include but are not limited to:- a) Windscreen and all other glass. b) Loss/damage/theft to the radio, stereo equipment and aerials. c) Interior damage including, burns to seats, carpets, and other damage. d) Vandalism and malicious damage of any kind to the vehicle. e) Personal effects within or from the vehicle. f) Contamination of the fresh water system by fuel or other contaminant. g) Tyres and punctures. h) Overhead damage resulting from any incident. The size of the vehicle is clearly visible in the cab area. If driven under an obstruction that is too low for it to clear, obvious examples being low bridges and car parks the hirer will be responsible for the full cost of all damage. I) Any charges arising from seizure of the vehicle by Government Bodies, Customs & Excise or other authorities, including loss of hire income whilst the vehicle cannot be rented out. SECURITY DEPOSIT: There is a £750 refundable security deposit to cover any excess payable, for any damage or loss for any one incident or accident whilst the vehicle is on hire to you or in your care. This is payable no less than 7 days before the commencement of the hire period as cleared funds. We are unable to accept cash payments for the security deposit, if you wish to pay this by cheque please make sure you allow time for clearance. Subject to a final detailed inspection, the security deposit will be returned within 7 working days of the end of the hire if there is no insurance claim, damage, shortages or surcharges and incurred fines. In the event of any damage resulting from the actions of a 3rd party, for which we are able to reclaim the excess, the security deposit will be returned once we have recovered this excess. Bliss reserve the right to increase the security deposit for specific events. DRIVER(s) Each driver must:- a) Be between the age of 25 and 75 years of age, at the time of booking and during the hire period. Up to 4 drivers can be named. Subject to acceptance by insurer. b) Only drivers named on the vehicle Rental Agreement Form are covered to drive, and must be present at the handover of the vehicle. The Rental Agreement Form must be completed before collection of the vehicle, and must be signed at the time of collection. c) Have held a full UK or EU licence for a minimum of 2 full years, with B category (not automatic) and with regular driving experience. d) Declare any accidents and driving offences, endorsements, suspensions or penalty points. e) Provide original identification documentation at the time of collection: Valid Driving Licence, which must show the current address. The paper counterpart is not valid since 8 June 2015. We can check licences on-line with the driver's permission. Photographic ID such as a photo card driving licence or passport. TWO other forms of ID must be produced by EACH named driver; these MUST be from DIFFERENT providers. Both must show the same name and address as the licence, and be dated within the last 60 days before the start of hire. Acceptable Utility bills are Gas, Electricity, Water, Landline Telephone Number, Sky or Virgin TV bill, Credit Card Bill, Bank/Mortgage Statements and Council Tax Bills. NOT acceptable bills are mobile phone, salary documentation and insurance paper work. Failure to provide the required documents will result in cancellation of your booking and full loss of your hire fee. f) The vehicle shall not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature or for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire and reward or any other form of profit or remuneration. g) Declare anything that may affect the insurance of the vehicle; e.g. previous driving bans. Persons who have had their licence revoked by DVLA due to medical grounds or convictions must not drive. h) Ensure that all passengers wear seatbelts as required by law. Do not carry more passengers than there are seat belts, this is a legal requirement. i) All vehicles may only be driven on sealed tarmac roads, or hard standing solid ground. j) The driver will be personally liable for all expenses, fines, endorsements etc., incurred due to violation of traffic laws, regulations etc. Should Bliss receive penalty notices for any traffic offences, then an administration charge will be added. k) Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded. l) Persons who cannot be covered under the terms of the insurance: (1) Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer. (2) Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons. (3) Jockeys and persons connected with racing of any sort. (4) Undergraduates and/or students under 25 years of age. (5) Persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years. (6) Foreign Service Personnel other than persons born in the United Kingdom. m) Additional drivers can be added for an extra charge. n) We cater primarily for couples and small families and reserve the right not to accept bookings from groups of more than two adults. o) Other convictions will be considered, but will only be accepted at the discretion of our insurer, and may incur additional charges. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your driving licence, please don't hesitate to get in touch. ACCIDENTS OR BREAKDOWNS: a) While we assure you that every effort is made to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe and roadworthy condition prior to the hire period, in the unlikely event of a breakdown, the vehicle is covered for roadside assistance, and recovery 24/7. Details can be found in the welcome pack in the vehicle. b) The hirer may authorise repairs and replacements up to fifty pounds (£50) and will be reimbursed on supply of a valid VAT receipt. The hirer must obtain permission from the company for repair and replacement costs above fifty pounds (£50), prior to any work being carried out. c) Where Bliss Motorhome Hire incurs costs through negligence on your part, any charges incurred by the company will be passed onto you. Incidents of negligence include, but are not limited to, running out of fuel, using wrong fuel, locking the keys inside vehicle, loss of keys, and recovering the vehicle if it becomes bogged down. d) All accidents must be reported to us immediately so that appropriate action can be taken. All details of the accident, all parties and vehicles involved and any witnesses should be recorded on the accident forms provided in the welcome pack, and returned to us at the end of the hire. If necessary, the incident should be reported to the police. On no account should the hirer make any admission of liability to other parties, settlement offer or other like offer. e) Bliss Motorhome Hire will not be held responsible for any hotel or consequential expenses, or any 3rd party claims or damages, subsequent to any accident or breakdown of the vehicle. f) Should damage to the vehicle require specialist repair, we may require you to return the vehicle earlier than the term of the rental period. Repairs must first be authorised by ourselves and VAT receipts retained in order for us to reimburse the cost. FUEL, OIL AND COOLANTS: a) A full tank of diesel will be provided when you collect the vehicle. You are required to return with a full tank. The location of a local fuel station will be given at the time of hire. Any fuel shortage will incur an extra charge, plus the cost of the fuel. b) The Hirer will be liable if the incorrect fuel type is used. c) It is the hirer’s responsibility to regularly check the fluid levels of the engine. Failure to do so, may result in engine damage for which the hirer will be responsible. CALOR GAS: a) The vehicle will be supplied with two gas cylinders; one of these will be full and will be sealed. b) Subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer. If the connected cylinder becomes empty, connect to the full cylinder and purchase a replacement, ensuring it is the same size and fitting, from any Calor outlet. On production of a valid VAT receipt, you will be reimbursed. c) If the full cylinder seal is removed, then it shall be assumed that the cylinders have been changed over and the hirer will be responsible for the replacement of the used cylinder. d) Any further replacement cylinders will be at your cost. e) Failure to replace an empty gas cylinder, loss of or incorrectly exchanged will result in an extra charge being made on your return. SECURITY: a) The hirer is responsible for ensuring that all reasonable precautions have been taken against damage and theft of or from the vehicle. b) When you leave the vehicle you must ensure that all windows, roof-lights and doors are closed, secure and locked. c) The keys are NOT left in the vehicle. d) Do not leave valuables on show or the vehicle in a vulnerable position. e) It is advised that the vehicle is not left unattended at any time, day or night in a service station especially when travelling on the continent. HABITATION EQUIPMENT BREAKDOWN: a) Equipment such as fridge, cooker, heating, toilet etc. may be covered by warranty. Breakdown on any equipment may not mean you have to end your holiday. Please contact Bliss so we can offer advice on what steps to take. This could involve a visit to a motorhome dealership or repair centre. b) The hirer may authorise repairs and replacements up to fifty pounds (£50) and will be reimbursed on supply of a valid VAT receipt. The hirer must obtain permission from the company for repair and replacement costs above fifty pounds (£50), prior to any work being carried out. c) Should the item not be repairable, Bliss cannot be held responsible and will not refund any hire monies to you. d) Please do not attempt any repairs yourself. BOOKING PROCEDURES: a) A booking deposit of one third of the hire cost is required at the time of reservation. This will be deducted from the total hire charge at time of paying balances. This deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. We advise you, the hirer to take out cancellation insurance to safeguard your booking. b) The booking is not confirmed until the deposit is paid. If the deposit is not received within 2 days of reservation, the booking will be cancelled. c) Once your booking is confirmed, we will send to you an invoice either by post or email, in respect of monies paid and the balance of hire charges with due dates. d) Bookings made less than 6 weeks from date of hire, must be paid in full at time of booking. e) You will be required to complete a Rental Agreement Form in advance which must be returned to Bliss and will be signed when you collect the motorhome. f) Bliss reserves the right to vary the hire charges at any time, without notice. g) If you make changes to your booking, Bliss reserves the right to charge an administration fee. METHODS OF PAYMENT: a) Bank Transfers b) PayPal - Please add 4% flat rate if paying by this method to cover fees charged by PayPal. c) Cheque - Please allow 10 days for clearance. COLLECTION AND RETURN: a) The vehicle will not be released if either, full payment in cleared funds has not been received and if the relevant ID is not produced. b) The vehicle is available for collection between 11am and 12 noon and must be returned between 2pm and 3pm at the end of the hire. Depending on availability, we would be happy to make other arrangements, these must be agreed in advance and in writing and may attract a further charge. The handover can take up to one hour to ensure you are familiar with the basics, an instruction guide will be provided and telephone support available. c) The hirer will acknowledge delivery of the vehicle by signing to say the contents are free from any defect or damage, and complete other than as specified by Bliss, at the date of commencement of hire. d) Failure to return the vehicle within the agreed time on the last day of the hire means the vehicle is not insured and renders the hirer to criminal prosecution. Failure to return on time also incurs a penalty per hour or part thereof, together with any other costs incurred, including any compensation payable to the subsequent hirer. e) No refunds will be given if the vehicle is returned early. f) The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it went out. Please allow up to an hour on your return, for a representative of Bliss Motorhome Hire to check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, shortages, full fuel tank, tyres, toilet cassette clean and emptied, hired options and any other associated items. Also, for you to remove your belongings if necessary. g) Hirer's vehicle can be left free of charge at our pickup point, in an off road position. Vehicles are left entirely at the owners risk, and no liability for loss or damage will be accepted by Bliss Motorhome Hire. h) One way trips are not permitted. At the end of the hire period, the vehicle must be returned to the pick up point, and the keys handed over to a Bliss representative. The vehicle must not be left elsewhere. i) Accidental damage to cooking equipment or crockery can happen, please inform Bliss as soon as possible so that we can arrange replacements for the next hirer. Charges for losses or breakages will be at the discretion of Bliss staff. j) If the vehicle is returned on time and in a clean and undamaged state with all components and accessories accounted for, the security deposit will be returned to the hirer within 7 days of the end of the hire period. BEDDING AND TOWELS: Bedding and washroom towels are not provided as standard. Bedding packs, consisting of duvet & cover plus sheets and pillowcases for fixed bed, sleeping bags/liners for dinette bed and towel packs can be hired for an extra charge, and by prior arrangement. SMOKING: Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited and against the law. The hirer will automatically lose their entire security bond if Bliss suspect that smoking has occurred. PETS: Animals are not permitted in the vehicle at any time. If there is damage or evidence of pets, including but not limited to pet hair on the seating and sleeping areas an extra charge will be made. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: Our vehicles and equipment are supplied in the best possible condition, and we ask that you maintain that standard and return the vehicle in the same condition. Should this not be the case, we reserve the right to make charges against the security deposit. A full inventory of equipment is included in the vehicle. Extra charges and possible causes for retention of security deposit:- a) Fuel tank not full on return, charged at the cost of the fuel plus £30. b) Toilet cassette not cleaned and emptied £50. c) Replacement of empty gas cylinder £30. d) Missing gas cylinder £70. e) Waste tank not emptied £30. f) Failure to return at arranged time, will be charged at £100 per hour or part there of. Together with any other costs incurred, including any compensation payable to the subsequent hirer. g) Administration charges, from £25. h) An additional charge will be made for cleaning, should the vehicle be returned in a dirty condition and require attention beyond our normal between hire cleaning services, from £75. i) Smoking, full amount of security bond £750. j) Evidence of animals, from £100. k) Tyres damaged, price of new tyre and refit. l) Punctured tyre, cost of repair. m) Damage/loss to mains hook up lead, cost of replacement. n) Windscreen, windows, roof vent damage, cost of replacement. o) Any other damage internally or externally, cost of replacement or repair. HIRE AND MILEAGE LIMITS: There is a minimum 3 night hire for the UK, and 7 nights for the EU. As a guide we feel that, an average of 120 miles per day should be adequate in the UK, and 150 miles per day in the EU. If you feel your hire might exceed this it doesn’t mean you can’t hire, but please speak to us. AVAILABILITY: a) Every effort will be made to ensure that the vehicle is ready at the agreed time, however if due to circumstances beyond our control we accept no liability other than, part refund of the hire for hours or days lost. b) We will endeavour to supply a similar replacement vehicle, failing which all monies paid will be refunded. CANCELLATION BY HIRER: a) All cancellations must be received in writing by post at the registered office of Bliss Motorhome Hire, please also telephone to inform us. Any cancellations by the hirer will be charged as follows: The booking deposit is not refundable. Less than 6 weeks, but more than 3 weeks prior to commencement of hire, loss of 50% of hire cost. Less than 3 weeks prior to commencement of hire, or no shows, loss of the full hire cost. b) In the event of a cancellation, Bliss will endeavour to re-hire the vehicle. If successful, then at our discretion the hirer may be refunded less an administrative charge. c) Bliss Motorhome Hire reserves the right to cancel the hire if at the commencement of the hire the driver's licence(s) are invalid or do not meet our terms and conditions for hire. In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeit. Hirers are strongly advised to insure against any unavoidable cancellation. TERMINATION: Bliss may terminate this Agreement and repossess the vehicle at any time, without notification, and that the hirer will pay the reasonable costs of repossessing the vehicle, including towing charges if: In breach of any term of this Agreement. If the vehicle was obtained through fraud or misrepresentation. If the vehicle appears to be abandoned. If the vehicle is not returned on the agreed return date or Bliss reasonably believes that the vehicle will not be returned on the agreed return date. If Bliss considers on reasonable grounds, that the safety of passengers or the condition of the vehicle is endangered. In such cases, the hirer has no right to a refund of any part of the rental charges or the security deposit. COMPLAINTS: Any complaints must be received in writing to the office within seven days of the end of the hire. GOVERNING LAW: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of England and Wales. PRIVACY POLICY: This privacy policy explains how Bliss Motorhome Hire uses and protects any information that you give when you use this website. We at Bliss are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any information we ask you to provide will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. We will ask you to provide your name, contact details - telephone number and email address, occupation and demographic information. Bliss Motorhome Hire will only ask you for personal information which is necessary for us to complete the rental agreement for insurance purposes. We will not lease, distribute or sell your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee may be payable. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Bliss Motorhome Hire cannot be responsible for your protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. ENTIRE AGREEMENT: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and there are no other oral undertakings, warranties or agreements between the parties relating to the subject matter of this agreement. Bliss Motorhome Hire reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions at any time and to cancel or refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning. By making a booking and paying a deposit, the hirer is entering into an agreement with Bliss Motorhome Hire and agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.
