Insurance Drivers • must be aged between 25-75 • must have had a valid UK licence for 2 years • Non-UK licences by prior agreement • must provide on the day of hire both parts of their driving licence (plastic and paper copy), 2 household bills with current address dated within the last 3 months. • additional drivers must also provide both parts of their driving licence, plastic and paper copy as above • must not have more than 6 points for minor offences • must not have had more than one accident in the last 3 years • must not have had insurance refused or declined • must not be engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports, a jockey, or connected with racing, involved in the gaming industry or the press of any sort. Insurance Excess The hirer is responsible for a standard excess of £500 in case of accidental damage, fire, theft or third party damage. You can obtain Collision Damage Waiver which is available using an internet search for our newer vans. We also offer to ‘Cover the Excess’ for an additional cost. (Excludes excess payable in the event of a Fire claim) Additional costs Will apply under the following circumstances • Additional drivers • Non-UK licences • Pet(s) • Rental of additional equipment • European travel over 1,000 miles per hire period is charged at 10p per mile Security Deposit £500 will be taken at the time of hire. This can be pre-authorisation of a debit or credit card or by bank transfer. A pre-authorisation will be cancelled / bank transfer refunded on return of the hired van in the same conditions that it was collected. Terms of the rental are met. These terms are:- • van returned with the same amount of petrol that was in it when it was collected • van and contents are clean and in the same condition as when rented out • the van must be returned within the stated time. It would be unfair to be late for the next hirer. Please note that the van is not insured outside the contract of hire. Payment and Cancellation A booking deposit of £150 is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to rental start date, or the full amount if within 4 weeks. No refund will be given once the balance has been paid unless we can re-hire the campervan whereupon a partial refund may be given. Please make sure you have appropriate holiday insurance to cover any eventualities. There will be no refund in the event of early return e.g. illness, accident, theft. (Excluding breakdown that is not the fault of the hirer, see below) In the unlikely event of breakdown where the van cannot be repaired for use, every effort will be made to provide a similar van, if this is not possible a full or partial refund of hire costs will be made dependant on time left in the hire period, and you will be collected and returned to home. We cannot accept responsibility for missed functions due to breakdown. Glamcar cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting any hire. Fines and Liability Drivers are responsible for any legal penalties e.g. parking fines, speeding tickets, incurred during the hire period. Rental restrictions • No smoking or candles inside the van • Pets by prior agreement with booking, charged at £20 per rental • The number of passengers is limited to the seatbelt capacity of the van as stated • Unleaded fuel only • The van shall not be taken outside of the United Kingdom without prior agreement. Using the Camper Van The hirer • must not leave keys in the ignition or in view when not attended to prevent theft • must ensure the van is locked and secure whenever it is left unattended • will be responsible for loss of keys • will be responsible for using the correct fuel (unleaded petrol) and will incur any costs to rectify if the wrong fuel is used • is liable for replacing any tyres that are punctured or damaged during the hire period • is responsible for not driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs according to the law • must not submerge the van in (salt) water • Theft of the van or equipment must be reported to the police and Glamcar immediately.
