Description

Awesome bunkhouse RV - sleeps 6+, seatbelts for 8 and runs on LPG.

The basics:
We hire the vehicle from SATURDAY to SATURDAY. We appreciate that some people may wish to book for just a few days over a weekend, but this would potentially take two full weeks out of the booking calendar. Regrettably also, we cannot allow pets as it can cause allergy issues for future renters; finally, we do not accept smoking in the vehicle under any circumstances.

So what's it got?
It has a built in 4kw generator, 2 x roof mounted aircon units, full size larder fridge, freezer, microwave, oven and hob. The slide outs cover almost the full length of the coach and give a massive 370 sq ft of space when extended - compared to around 120 sq ft in an AutoTrail 720 or similar. The rear island bed is a full standard kingsize, and as well as the two bunks there's a sofa bed in the lounge area along with a convertible dinette. A 2kw inverter provides 240v power without using the generator (from 2 x 100ah leisure batteries) and there is a massive amount of storage space, both internally and externally.

A roof-mounted, fully automatic 3' satellite dish is connected to a sky box, and wifi is provided via a built in router and rooftop aerial offering the usual selection of netflix, youtube etc on the 25" main TV. A 10" monitor covers 2 x side cameras, a reversing camera and a "rear view" cam for use as a rear view mirror; a fully integrated kenwood sound system offers apple play, DAB radio and a huge range of music apps. Inbuilt Microwave, oven, hob and full-size larder fridge with pull-out storage making cooking a dream.

Is it expensive to drive?
The engine is a 6.8ltr Ford V10 with over 380hp - a completely different experience to a diesel van - but because it runs on Dual Fuel (Petrol/LPG) when using the LPG (average cost at the moment about 62p/litre) it costs the same as a typical diesel van achieving around 22-24mpg. Range of the LPG tank is circa 250 miles with a further 400 miles available from the petrol tank if need be.

Can you drive it somewhere for me to use, and collect it afterwards?
Delivery to a fixed location maybe possible (eg festivals, weddings etc) depending upon time and place - just ask.

Can anybody drive it?
This RV is far more spacious than a typical "European" style motorhome and while it isn't hard to drive, it is a COACH, not a VAN. Self Driver hirers will need a C1 7.5 ton licence AND be able to demonstrate experience of driving large vehicles, OR hold a current HGV licence; please ensure you provide details of experience and/or licence when requesting a quote.

Can I take it abroad?
Absolutely. As a Lefthand Drive it's perfect for the continent or Ireland - the Garmin 890 SatNave features a huge 8.5" screen and is pre-programmed with the RV's dimensions and weight to ensure routes are only offered that are suitable for the coach (usual caveats however apply in that the SatNav is only a guide - it CANNOT be solely relied upon and it is the drivers' responsibility to ensure the roads/bridges etc are suitable for use). Typical cost of a ferry crossing is around £200 - £300 peak season each way.
