The Captain Cook Memorial Museum in Whitby is situated in the 17th century house on the harbour-side where the young man lodged when he was an apprentice. And of course there are many heritage related sights in York, including York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum to name just three.
